ROTC Places in Regional Drill Meet


Greenville Senior High Naval Junior Reserve Officer Corps placed for the first time in the Navy’s Area Three Regional Drill meet held in Columbus, Ohio. This is the third consecutive year Greenville High School has been invited to participate in the regional championship. Over 700 Navy JROTC Cadets from 22 schools from Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia competed over a two day period for the right to attend the National Championship in Pensacola, Florida. The Cadet’s of Greenville High School finished sixth out of the field of 22 schools. The GHS NJROTC Physical Fitness team, Commanded by Cadet Chris Fenstermaker Placed 1st in the 16 x 100 YD relay and finished 5th overall in the athletic competition. The Armed Rifle Drill Team, Commanded by Cadet Dustin Frederick also placed 5th. The GHS Colorguard, Unarmed, and Unarmed exhibition teams placed 6th, Academic team placed 8th Personal inspection team placed 9th. Individual awards went to Aaron Ramsey who placed 1st in unarmed drill, Joey Adams who placed 6th and James Valentine who placed7th in Armed drill.
