ROTC PASS AND REVIEW

On Thursday, March 11th, the Greenville High School NJROTC unit hosted their annual Change in Command and Pass and Review Ceremony and Inspection. The inspection and review ceremony was completed by the Area Three Manager CDR George Clifford from Naval Station Great Lakes along with honored guest Superintendent Ms. Susie Riegle. The inspection is done annually to insure the NJROTC program is operating fiscally responsible and for the benefit of the community. The ninety-nine cadets were formed up in the main gym into four different platoons led by Cadet Chelsea Buzard (Alpha Platoon), Cadet Dustin Frederick (Bravo Platoon), Cadet Ben Green (Charlie Platoon), and Cadet Ben Mendenhall (Delta Platoon). After getting into formation, Commander George Clifford inspected the cadets by ranks for personal appearance and military knowledge. Commander Clifford then attended the executive staff meeting were the Cadet Leaders presented a power point presentation about the units achievements and goals, along with personal achievements and goals. The cadets were then organized into four drill platoons for the afternoon Pass and Review to demonstrate basic drill movements for Commander George Clifford and Superintendant Ms. Susie Riegle. The Cadet Command Master Chief, Sharon Kissinger, delivered Alpha platoon’s guidon for the change of command from Cadet Jeremy Guissemen to Cadet James Valentine. Congratulations go to the following cadets who obtained a perfect score on their military inspection; Cadet Tyler Neff: NS1, Cadet William Compton: NS1, Cadet Chad Denman: NS1, Cadet Samantha Schmidt: NS1 Cadet Sharon Kissinger: NS2, Cadet Joey Adams: NS1, Cadet Ben Mendenhall: NS2, Cadet Jessica Jones: NS2 Cadet Kasey Simons: NS3, Cadet Elizabeth Trepanier: NS1, Cadet Justin Nickell: NS4 Cadet Chelsea Buzard: NS3 2nd award, Cadet Patrick Lockhart: NS4 2nd award. Congratulations also go to Cadet James Valentine for earning the Cadet Achievement Award for superior performance of duty in creating the NJROTC web site njrotc.novahost.org while serving as Public Affairs Officer for the unit. The day was concluded with the cadets marching past CDR Clifford and Superintendant Ms. Susie Riegle in a show of respect for their authority and support.
