BPA Student Headed to the Nationals

The BPA contest was held in Columbus March 18 & 19. GHS took a total of 12 business BPA students to compete in various contests. The top 10 in the state for each contest are called to the stage at Veterans' Memorial. The top 5 of each contest earn the right to advance on to Nationals. Greenville had 9 students called to the stage.

The contest is in the co-curricular club Business Professionals of America. Ben, who is a senior this year, competed in the C++ Programming contest where he had 90 minutes to write a fully functioning program using the C++ Programming Language. This year's task was to write the code for menu driven character creator like a person would find in a computer game. He received first place in the state. This is Ben's second time to earn the right to compete at BPA Nationals. Last year he was fifth in the state. This year's national contest is in Anaheim, California May 5 - 9.
