GHS Swim Team

The Green Wave swimmers participated in a 4 team meet this past Saturday. The girls finished 1st and the boys were 2nd. Zach Toman finished 1st in the 100 breaststroke and broke his own record. Other 1st place finishers were: Asya Lewis, Jackie Kensinger, Megan Foley, Sarah Green, Kelsey Walker, Emily Hayes, Cylas Conway and Leah Lewis.

South Middle School


South Middle School particiated in F.I.S.H. food drive for Christmas 2011 Caring and Sharing and collected 782 lbs. of food. They also collected donations for the Darke County Humane Society.

Junior High Wrestling Gets 2 Big Wins

The Junior High Wave wrestling team hosted a double dual with Brookville, Northmont, and Springfield Thurday night. The Wave finished the night 2-0 as team. The young wrestlers defeated Brookville 51-34 before taking down Springfield in the second set of matches 47-33. Individual winners for Greenville are as follows:

104 lbs: Aaron Minniard 1-1
110 lbs: Hunter Gambrel 1-0
116 lbs: Logan Gorrel 1-1
122 lbs: Lance Miller 2-0

Junior High Wrestling

The Greenville Jr High Wrestling Team competed this past weekend in the St. Marys Invitational coming in 8th place over all. Individual placers for the Wave were as follows:

Champion: William Nibert

4th: Dalton Mayer
5th: Brad Mead, Hunter Gambrel
6th: Alli Hill
8th: Sean Wideman, Aaron Minniard

High School Wave Wrestling

The Green Wave Wrestling team finished 2nd at the Wave Duals this past Saturday, starting their season with a record of 4-1. Winning matches on the mat for the Wave were: Kyle Carlisle, Jon Edwards, Nick Woodruff, Ian Warner, Jordon Jenkinson, Nelson Roberts, Sam Barga, Sam Quigney, Brennan Gettinger, William Conlon, Kory Bannon, and Nick Livingston.

GHS SWIM TEAM Starts Strong

The GHS Varsity Wave swimmers won their first swim meet of the season on Friday night. Placing first for the Wave were: Macayla Mendoza, Jackie Kensinger, Megan Foley, Sarah, Green, Brandon Myers, Zach Toman, Jacob Clark, Cylas Conway, Jessie Dorsten, Emily Hayes, Caitlyn Eckstein, and Andrew Cech.

On Saturday the swimmers participated in a 22 team meet at Wright State. The girls finished 7th and the boys were 10th. Megan Foley finished first in the 50 Freestyle. Other swimmers placing for the Wave were: Sarah Green-5th, Jackie Kensinger-7th, Jessie Dorsten, Emily Hayes, Jacob Clark, Caleb Custer, Kevin Cameron, Brandon Myers, and Jacob B

Varsity Cheerleaders GWOC NORTH CHAMPS

The GHS Cheerleaders participated at Saturday's GWOC Cheerleading Competition. The Varsity Cheerleaders won the competition and were named the 2011-2012 GWOC North Division Champions. Cheerleaders Jenna Dowler, Ashley Hanes, and Sydney Hunt were named First Team - All GWOC. Tia Williamson and Ashley Mikesell earned Second Team -All GWOC honors and Courtney Overton received a GWOC Special Mention.

Student Council "Hats on Day" Raises Money


The Greenville High School Student Council held a "Hats on Day" in September, and raised $83.00. It was decided to donate the money to Community Unity to be used for Medical Bills. Presenting the check to Mr. Jim Morehouse is Andrew Cech from our Student Council.
