The wind and rain could not dampen the spirits of 169 third and fourth graders during MEGA BASH on Thursday evening. Students celebrated their outstanding character by munching on goodies, dancing to top 40 hits, and demonstrating their batting skills.
The students and staff would like to thank the following volunteers who assisted with this event: Heather Crews, Michelle Hiestand, David Hiestand, Dan Coppess, Sonja Coppess, Diana Manges, Melissa Begoon, Elisabeth Lance, and Jason Lance. Thanks also goes to former EAST students Lindsey Tilly, Rachel Britsch, and Emily Fulton for their hard work.
Appreciation is also shown for the staff members who chapperoned the event- Mrs. Flora, Mrs. Holzapfel, Mrs. Gibson, Mrs. Capasso, Mrs. Leas, Mrs. Evers, Mr. Winner, Mr. Stickel, Mrs. Koontz, Mrs. Holm, and Mrs. Britsch.

Junior High Tennis Defeats Troy
The boys tennis team defeated Troy 4-1. Winning for the Wave were Sam Dean 1st singles; Evan Kiser 2nd singles; Jesse Symons 3rd singles; Masen Rich and Adam Null 2nd doubles. The team is now 4-0.

NJROTC Places 1st at Anderson
Greenville High School NJROTC Places 1st at Anderson, Indiana Drill Meet
Greenville’s Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) placed First at the Ebbert Education Center Drill Meet which took place in Anderson Indiana. Competing in their last drill meet of the season against 5 other schools from Indiana and Ohio the Greenwave NJROTC team placed first in Inspection/Academics led by Chad Denman, 2nd in Unarmed Drill led by Colten Forte, 2nd in Armed Exhibition led by Kody Roark, 3rd in Physical Fitness led by Alex Dearing, 3rd in Color Guard led by Logan George, 3rd in Unarmed Exhibition led by Chad Denman and 3rd in Marksmanship led by Brandon Mendenhall. Competing against 120 other cadets individual awards went to Kody Roark 1st place Unit Leader Evaluation, Liz Hornbeck 2nd place Female Athletics, Joey Adam 2nd Place Male Athletics, Zeppilin Hoehn 2nd place Armed Drill, T.J. Wenning 3rd place armed drill, Thorn Swartout 4th place Armed drill, Jeremiah Flatter 6th Armed Drill, Colt Grilliot 7th place Armed drill, Colten Forte 8th place armed drill Kody Roark 6th place unarmed drill, Elizabeth Trepanier 7th place unarmed drill, Storm Parsons 8th place unarmed drill, Liz Hornbeck 9th place Unarmed Drill, Joey Adams 10th place unarmed drill. Auto Tech Competes
Congratulations to Trevor DeSchepper, Andrea Arthur, and Trevor Bates for winning 1st place at Sinclair's Automotive Tech Prep Showcase yesterday. Congratulations to Rachel Lyle and Dustin Frederick for being chosen as the Kiwanis Students of the Month for March.
Greenville NJROTC tours Fort Knox Army Base Eighteen Cadets and three chaperones from Greenville High School’s Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) made the four hour trip to Fort Knox, Kentucky to tour base facilities and view how army soldiers train. The students had a chance to talk to Army Drill Instructors on life as an army recruit. The Cadets also received briefs and tours of the army’s Bradley Fighting vehicle, STRYKER all terrain troop transport and the HMMVEE multipurpose vehicle. The Cadets also were given the opportunity to operate the Army’s Main Battle Tank the M-1 Abrahams in Fort Knox’s state of the art simulator. The Cadets divided into teams of four taking the positions of commander, driver, loader, and gunner and with the help of army instructors entered a simulated battlefield. The Cadets also had an opportunity to drive a simulated armored HMMVEE with a driver and gunner on a simulated battlefield. The day ended with students firing simulated M-16’s, M-240 and the M-249 on the Army’s combat engagement range simulator. The students also had a chance to eat at an Army dining facility for lunch. The trip was sponsored by the Greenville NJROTC Booster Organization. Hospitality Competes at the State
Hospitality students participated Thursday in State FCCLA Lodging events and on Friday received their awards. The Junior Hotel Linen Operations team of Brandon Johnston and Jessica Klopfer received a silver medal. The Senior Hotel Linen Operations team of Ashton Lehman and Keith Green received a gold medal. The Meeting Event Setup team of Kristen Fullroth, Katelyn Miron and Katelyn Shank received a gold medal. Congratulations on an outstanding performance at state FCCLA!!!

Junior High Choir Contest Results Congratulations to the Choir students on an~outstanding job~at the District 11 Solo and Ensemble Contest at Fairlawn Local Schools on Saturday. They received a total of~3 excellent ratings and 20 superior ratings. The choir is directed by Pam Graves.

Lambda Phi Sorority Donates to GJHS

Lady Wave Softball now 4-1
The varsity softball team won three games over the weekend. They beat Fairborn on Friday and Celina & Lebanon on Saturday. Their record is now 4-1. The reserve softball team is also 4-1, beating Fairborn on Friday and splitting with Celina on Saturday.
