GREENVILLE, Ohio — As a class assignment for 6th graders nearly a year ago at the middle school in the Greenville School District students wrote letters of appreciation to the military men and women in Operation Enduring Freedom overseas in Afghanistan.
About a year later, much to the tearful surprise of 13-year-old Natalie House, a seventh grader at the Jr. High School in Greenville, she received an American flag from the soldiers her letter writen at school was sent to.
The letter and background information on the flag was presented to Natalie House during a school assembly at Memorial Hall in Greenville.
