The Greenville High School boys and girls cross country teams competed this past Saturday in the Dayton District Cross Country meet at the Miami Valley Career Tech Center. Leading the girls were Chloe Warvel and Kristen Karns who both qualified for a spot at the regional meet this coming Saturday at Troy. Warvel negotiated the 3.1 mile course in a time of 20:19 (13th), followed by Karns 20:37 (16th), Cheyanne Beam 22:08 (32nd), Catherine Gibson 22:12 (33rd), Elizabeth Conway 23:03 (48th), Angela Borgerding 23:16 (53rd), and Emily Hayes 24:13 (71st). The Lady Wave finished 6th overall missing team qualification to regionals by two spots. Congratulations on a fine season by all these young ladies and best of luck to Chloe Warvel and Kristen Karns in their quest to move on to the state meet.
The boys were once again led by a strong effort from Andrew Cox. Cox ran the course in a time of 16:47 placing him 7th overall in the boys division one race securing him a ticket to the regional meet on Saturday. Following Cox were Andrew Burns 17:59 (38th), Michael Karns 18:17 (47th), Lucas McCabe 18:18 (48th), Calen Bruner 18:34 (54th), Landon Bruner 19:03 (66th), and Caleb Oda 19:36 (73rd). The boys finished 8th overall ending their season as a team. Congrats to the fellas for a very nice season and good luck to Andrew Cox in his quest to move on to the state meet.
