The 14th annual GHS NJROTC Navy Ball was held at the Elks Lodge in Greenville and attended by over 110 Cadets and their guests. Upon arrival, each cadet and their date walked through a traditional Sword Arch. The evenings ceremonies began with a welcome by NJROTC Commanding Officer Cadet James Valentine. NJROTC Executive Officer Cadet Chelsea Buzard followed listing the many cadet accomplishments this school year. Captain Keith Denman cadet instructor followed with a farewell to each of the 21 Seniors Cadets graduating from GHS this June and a special recognition of Ms Jewel Towery and her many volunteer hours driving the NJROTC Cadets to Drill Events . The Cadet leaders were than called forward to turn over the 15 trophies earned at competitions this year to GHS Principal Mr. Chris Mortensen. Cadet Sharon Kissinger explained the tradition and importance of the P.O.W. table and the remembrance of missing service members to the assembled Cadets. After a prayer led by Cadet Chad Denman everybody was able to enjoy an outstanding dinner. The last ceremonial event was the cutting of the cake done by the youngest Cadet, Zeppelin Hoen and oldest Cadet Jessica Wundelich symbolizing the passing of knowledge within the NJROTC program. The rest of the evening was spent with the cadets dancing to the sounds of DJ Opie.
