Greenville Junior High Band Members Perform with Darke County Jr. High Honor Band

Select members of the Greenville Junior High School Eighth Grade Band performed with the 84 member, Darke County Junior High Honor Band on February 25, 2012 at the Versailles Performing Arts Center. This was the second year for this honor band which was organized by the band directors from Ansonia, Arcanum, Franklin Monroe, Greenville, Mississinawa Valley, Tri-Village, and Versailles. Students from Greenville who performed were Dylan Avore, Haley Baker, Sam Ball, Jordan Bourne, Sarah Brandon, Nycole Burk, Cody Coppess, Kamryn Coppock, Scott Denman, Mic Feurer, Zoe Fields, Taenna Fields, Ashton Tester, Alex Lance, Lukas Lowry, Candice Malott, Casey Mortensen, Quintin Muhlenkamp, Alex Parkman, Nicole Sherry, Drew Snell, Joe Suter, Brandon Sykes, and Judge Welbaum. Members of the Honor Band rehearsed for one and a half days to prepare six musical selections for a public performance. The band helps to engage and challenge our junior high musicians in areas of sight reading, preparing for a concert in less than two days (usually groups will take several weeks to prepare for a concert) and adapt to students and directors from other schools.
